Police officers are trying to track down a rapist after a woman was attacked in a park in Bristol just before 3am this morning.

At 2.48am Avon and Somerset police received a phone call reporting the rape in Castle Park.

When they arrived at the park officers spoke to the victim who is now receiving support from Bluestone, the force’s specialist rape and sexual investigations team.

The attacker was wearing all black clothing and is described as white, approximately 5ft 9in tall with short brown hair.

CCTV footage around the time of the attack is under review to and police are still at the park having cordoned off the scene to allow a thorough examination.

Avon and Somerset police are urging anyone in the area who saw anything at the time of the attack or those who have footage or information that could help their investigation to call 101 and quote reference 5224043502.
