Police have shot a knifeman attacking staff and visitors at a Jewish hospital in Germany.

A man carrying a knife attacked staff and patients at House D of the hospital on Heinz-Galinski-Strasse, northern Berlin, on Friday afternoon. 

He was reportedly shot in the leg by police after he refused to put down the knife. 

Police in Germany’s capital rushed to the scene after several emergency calls.

Homicide have now moved in to investigate the scene.
