The sizzling start of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival has come to a not-so-glamorous end as wearied revellers headed home after a long day in the warm weather.
Rosehill Gardens hosted Chandon Ladies Day on Saturday at the first meet of the annual autumn racing season and one of the biggest days on the calender at the western Sydney racecourse.
Punters painted Rosehill pink and other bright colours for the annual raceday which featured 10 races throughout the day.
Florals were all the rage with attendees with many opting for all-pink outfits over themed accessories.

Those who avoided pink mostly stuck to bright colours with red another apparent fan-favourite.
‘The opening of the iconic Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival kicks off in style at Rosehill Gardens for Chandon Ladies Day, a day filled with high fashion, champagne and Sydney’s best racing,’ organisers said.
‘Enjoy pop-up bars, experience premium dining and treat your taste-buds with Sydney’s most exciting street food vendors.’
Some partygoers ended the fun-filled day a little worse for wear after a long day in the 33C heat.

Footwear were stripped off immediately after the event as attendees joined the long lines to wait for a cab home.
It wasn’t just the women getting up to wild antics on Saturday.
Several men were spotted holding handbags and accessories for their partners while others were seeing enjoying the last of the day’s food.
The day also featured astar-studded Pink Fashion Lunch, where attendees a three course meal, fashion show and live performance from ARIA award winning singer Paulini while raising funds for the McGarth Foundation.
Guests included cricket WAG Candice Warner, fashion writer and racing reporter Kate Waterhouse scolumnist Jana Hocking, designers Victoria Novak and Donny Galella along with Weekend Sunrise star James Tobin.
However, it was former professional golfer Paige Spiranac who stole the show in a strapless figure-hugging dress with a red floral pattern, paired with white heels and fascinator.
The event comes just one week before the highly-anticipated Longines Golden Slipper Day, featuring the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.
The Golden Slipper’s first race will start at 11.50am with the whole day exclusively run by two-year-old race horses.

‘The pinnacle day of Longines Golden Slipper Carnival is Australia’s biggest day of Group 1 racing, the world’s most prestigious races,’ organisers said of next Saturday’s event.
The raceday includes five Group 1 races, headlined by the world’s richest race for two-year-olds, the $5 million Longines Golden Slipper.
The other Group 1 races include: The Agency George Ryder Stakes, Ranvet Stakes, The Galaxy and the Sky Racing Active Rosehill Guineas.’
