A lawyer representing former Donald Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani wrote a Delaware computer repair shop owner in August 2020 touting his ability to get information about Hunter Biden‘s infamous laptop to ‘the right places’ – and to confirm he lawfully owned the astonishing material he was offering.

The repair shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, had accessed the laptop – which was stocked with personal images and business information – after he said the president’s son dropped it off in 2019, never to return to pick it up.

He then reached out to Giuliani, whose lawyer memorialized efforts to ensure the information was ‘obtained lawfully,’ according to the 2020 email, which was obtained by DailyMail.com,

That kicked off a series of events, culminating in the publication of stories based on the contents of the laptop – with Hunter’s own team of lawyers responding just this week with a series of letters demanding probes into how the information got out. The letter by Giuliani’s lawyer, appears to be an effort to establish that the former New York mayor and his lawyer sought reassurances that the information wasn’t stolen.

‘You state that you had the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop and that you turned it over to the FBI,’ Giuliani lawyer Bob Costello wrote Mac Issac, who ran the Wilmington shop where he said a man resembling Hunter came in seeking computer help.

‘You also say that you have copies of the material that you turned over to the FBI, and that you want to get that material to the right people,’ he continued.

The two-paragraph email, penned by the former deputy criminal division chief at SDNY, states that he and Giuliani are ‘very interested in reviewing what you have and learning about how it came into your possession’

‘Mr. Giuliani and I have been working on that subject for some time now and we are in position to get the information to the right places, provided the information is accurate and was obtained lawfully,’ according to the email.

It then sets up a contact in the event that Mac Isaac is interested, ‘and I assume you are by virtue of having reached out to us.’

The release of the email, which has not been previously reported, is intended to dispute a 14-page letter by Hunter Biden attorney Abbe Lowell, who sought a probe from the Delaware AG seeking an investigation of people there was ‘considerable reason to believe violated various Delaware laws in accessing, copying, manipulating, and/or disseminating Mr. Biden’s personal computer data.’

The letter shows ‘the level of care and due diligence that the mayor and Bob were doing,’ said Giuliani’s spokesman and advisor, Ted Goodman.

The Hunter Biden letter, part of a more aggressive public and legal strategy overall, states that Mac Isaac ‘has admitted to gaining access to our client’s personal computer data in Delaware without Mr. Biden’s consent.’ It says he ‘chose to work with President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer to weaponize Mr. Biden’s personal computer data against his father, Joseph R. Biden, by unlawfully causing the provision of Mr. Biden’s personal data.’

Biden’s letter calls it a ‘failed dirty political trick.’

The New York Post first published articles based on the laptop weeks before the presidential election.

The Abbe Lowell letter states that Costello ‘has admitted that he almost immediately accessed the material without permission’ from Biden. It then references various Delaware criminal statutes, including those dealing with theft, possession of stolen property, as well as a computer misinformation statute.

The letter also quotes Costello’s quote in a deeply reported New York Magazine about the laptop saga.

‘You feel like a voyeur,’ Costello says while going through photo images of Hunter’s life from the laptop.

‘Seeing the hard drive’s contents as a political weapon, Mr. Costello allegedly called Mr. Giuliani and said, “you’re not going to believe what I have.”‘

Costello told DailyMail.com the letter fails to hold water, citing the repair order signed by Hunter Biden stating that unclaimed property becomes the property of the store after 90 days.

‘It does not matter. The assumption is that you’re copying and disclosing something that doesn’t belong to you,’ he said.  ‘That’s what makes that whole letter a lie.’

It shows desperation. Because they know now that the Republicans control the Congress, they are going to get into this and the full story is going to come out so the Day of Judgment, staring them right in the face, and they are desperately trying to get out from under it.’

‘No prosecutor in their right mind would look at this and treat it as serious,’ he said.
