A Service NSW staff member has been repeatedly stabbed in broad daylight shortly after arriving at work.
Emergency services rushed to Rawson Place in Haymarket, in the city’s CBD, on Friday following reports a man, 55, had been stabbed in the chest.
Police will allege he was stabbed in the lower back, chest and shoulder. A 32-year-old man has been taken into custody.
It’s believed the man in custody was a disgruntled customer.
NSW Police confirmed officer rushed to the scene at about 9.20am.

‘Police rendered first aid before he was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics,’ a statement read.
‘He was later transported to hospital in a critical but stable condition.
‘A 32-year-old man has been arrested and was taken to Day Street Police Station.’
Police said there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Officers have placed up a sign declaring the Service NSW office will be closed for the rest of the Friday.
A large police presence remains at the scene as forensic officers scour for possible evidence and take photos.
‘We are closed today today for unforeseen circumstances. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.’
NSW Police are expected to provide an update later on Friday.
