A speed boat crash in Missouri left eight people injured sending them all to the hospital when a vessel they were on ran aground after slamming into the banks of the lake and straight into the side of a house.
The crash occurred late on Saturday night at the Lake of the Ozarks, southwest of St. Louis.
Such was the speed of impact as the boat ran aground, all the passengers were flung from the vessel as it overturned, close to the 1.3-mile mark of the Osage Arm.
The boat involved was a 2014 Nortech boat with powerful engines and a top speed close to 70 knots.
The passengers, consisting of four women and four men, were seriously injured and ranged in age from 21 to 51 years old. The group were taken to Lake Regional hospital for medical attention.

It’s not clear if anyone inside the house suffered injuries from the collision.
The boat’s driver, identified as 47-year-old Adam Ramirez from Huntington Beach, California was arrested and charged with BWI (Boating While Intoxicated) with serious injury. He was also later released for medical treatment.
Ramirez is known to be something of a powerboat enthusiast.
Pictures from the scene of the crash on Sunday showed a vast amount of damage to the house with bricks having come away from a side wall, now looking extremely unsteady.
Later on Sunday, a crane was brought in to haul to boat away

Troopers spent time reconstructing the crash scene using a drone.
