Political commentator Steven Crowder has issued a groveling apology after footage emerged of him berating his heavily pregnant wife for not ‘performing her wifely duties’.
In a post on his Twitter page, the 35-year-old said: ‘I commented on my ongoing divorce on Tuesday, requesting privacy in the best interest of the family but also by court order agreed upon by all parties.
‘Broken marriages are ugly. In them people do ugly things, myself of course included, and I would never claim otherwise.
His apology comes after footage of him berating his wife was leaked to the press
‘However, due to recent misleadingly edited leaks to the tabloid press, without context and not subject to consequences of the court…well, if not privacy, the next best option is truth.
‘And so today, I have filed a motion to officially unseal all files as they relate to the matter of legal record.
‘Finances, relevant medical records including mental health history or evaluations, depositions, and any motions or sanctions from the courts of Texas.
‘I will NOT be leaking private martial information to the press, but if the privacy agreements are not respected by all parties, I will address all that is a matter of irrefutable legal record, in full context, next week.’

In the video obtained by journalist Yashar Ali and posted to his Substack, the YouTuber can be seen on shocking new Ring footage laying into Hilary as she struggles to stand while nearly eight months pregnant with twins.
He bans her from using their only car to go grocery shopping – because it would mean he could not go to the gym – and tells her to feed their dogs medicine that she feared would be toxic for their unborn children.
She finally snaps at him saying ‘your abuse is sick’ but later backs down and repeatedly tells him she loves him while he continues to lay into her while smoking a cigarette.
The Ring camera footage, taken on June 26, 2021, shows Crowder sitting on their back patio smoking as Hilary, wearing a shirt showing off her large bump, prepares to leave the house.
As she reaches for the keys, Crowder could be seen insisting she not take their only car, saying: ‘I drew a boundary. You are not taking the car.’
When Hilary asks why she can’t take the car to get groceries, Crowder replies: ‘Because if you refuse to do wifely things then I will go get the groceries.’
He also asks her whether she respects men, to which she replies that she does.

Apparently trying to reach an agreement, she asks if he would be more comfortable if she got somebody to pick her up, to which Crowder suggests she take an Uber.
Getting visibly more irritated, he explains if Hilary takes the car, he cannot go to the gym or see his parents or his friends.
‘The only way out of this is discipline and respect,’ he could be heard telling Hilary. ‘It’s the only way out of this.’
At that point, Hilary, seemingly growing ever more frustrated, tells Steven: ‘I love you. But Steven, your abuse is sick.’ She says, ‘I love you. I love you very much.’
But Crowder says her love is ‘disingenuous,’ arguing that if she is committed to their marriage, she should put gloves on to give the dogs medicine.’
Eventually, Hilary decides to leave the situation, after which, Ali reports based on witness testimony, Crowder got even angrier and yelled ‘I will f*** you up.’
Ali reports both Hilary and Crowder said he immediately pulled back when he realized what he said, but at that point Hilary was afraid and left.
