His wife Rema Zreika sahred a touching tribute to her late husband on social media, citing an Arabic phrase from the Koran.

‘You’ve shattered me into a million pieces. Inshallah [If God wills] I can be strong enough to raise your 6 kids,’ she wrote on Facebook.

‘Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Allah we shall return.’

Family and friends were quick to offer their support for the heartbroken family.

Neighbours have called for action to prevent another tragedy in the area, where accidents have become commonplace.

Hawksview Street resident Jemma Achi said there was an accident on the street ‘every six weeks’.

‘Unfortunately someone had to lose their life [Saturday] night,’ she told the Daily Telegraph.

‘Whenever there is an accident, all the neighbours come together and we all come running outside.’

Neighbour Tommy Naati said another resident had been reversing out of their driveway onto the road when the car Mr Marbany was in crashed into it.

‘There have been so many accidents here,’ he said.

‘That is why I don’t park my car on the street, I park it in the back. People are always speeding down the street.’

Ms Achi and Mr Naati want the collisions to be investigated and said speed bumps or other safety measures need to be installed to prevent more tragedies.

The 23-year-old driver of the Holden was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 37-year-old man, was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Westmead Hospital.

Police investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information into the incident, or dashcam footage, is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers
