Heart breaking moment wife of missing man who vanished three days ago and suffers ‘severe’ Alzheimer’s begs the public to help bring her husband home

  • Sydney man Ronald Weaver, 79, went missing in Wahroonga

  • Mr Weaver’s wife, Hannah, has made an emotional plea for help 

A woman has made an emotional plea to the public to help find her husband who suffers from severe alzheimer’s and has been missing for three days.

Ronald Weaver, 79, disappeared in Wahroonga in Sydney‘s north on Tuesday and was last seen at Woolcott Avenue. 

Police have entered their third day of searching for Mr Weaver in dense bushland at Cliff Oval as they concurrently held a press conference on Thursday. 

Mr Weaver’s wife, Hannah, spoke at the conference and issued a desperate appeal to residents for help to locate her ‘lovely husband’.

‘He’s a good person, even though he has Alzheimer’s I believe he still deserves quality of life,’ she said.  

‘Please, please help to locate Ron. Please go to social media to locate and remember his face.’

Mrs Weaver began to describe her husband’s physical features and what he wore before he vanished.

‘Please remember his face when you walk around the area,’ she continued. 

‘Please approach someone that looks like him, and ask his name. He remembers his name, even though he doesn’t remember his date of birth.’

Acting Superintendent Carlene Mahoney implored Wahroonga locals to check their sheds, backyards and driveways in the off chance Mr Weaver took shelter from the intense heat over the past few days.

Mr Weaver, who suffers from alzheimer's, is described as being 159cm tall, thin, with blue eyes and bald with grey hair on the sides

Mr Weaver is described as being 159cm tall (or 5’2), thin, with blue eyes and bald with grey hair on the sides. 

He was last seen wearing a cream coloured t-shirt with a beer logo on the front and back, grey coloured shorts and coloured stripped socks. 

More than 100 people are searching for Mr Weaver including NSW Police, SES volunteers, PolAir, NSW Rural Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Service staff. 

Anyone who may have seen Mr Weaver is urged to contact Hornsby Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
