Producers on the long-running game show Jeopardy! say they hope an episode of the show will be forgotten in the future after players failed to answer 23 questions.
During an episode of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, producers discussed the June 8 episode where contestants were stumped by nearly two dozen questions.
Producer Sarah Foss and co-host Buzzy Cohen said the episode is a low point for the show and something they plan to ‘forget it ever happened.
According to the J! Archive, the record for the total missed questions during a single episode of the show is 24.
The admission comes hours after Jeopardy! made headlines as fans shared their outrage that no players answered a ‘simple’ question about the Lord’s Prayer.

During the Inside Jeopardy! episode, Foss and Cohen agreed that it’s ‘never’ a good thing when the players are left consistently stumped.
‘One thing that was not so great about this game, in this game — this has to be a record — 23 triple stumpers. And it’s something we never like to see,’ Foss said.
‘No, not good,’ Cohen responded.
‘You know, it’s the last game before lunch… Maybe everyone’s a little hungry or sleepy,’ Cohen said, talking about Jeopardy!’s grueling filming schedule.
The show films up to five episodes on a taping day.
The episode with the series of stumps drove fans up a wall as others have commented on the state of the questions and the contestants in recent years.
‘I really could not discern whether or not the clues were too tough or the contestants were not well-versed in the subjects. The clues have gotten harder I think in the last few years,’ one viewer wrote.
Players Collette Lee, Kristine Rembach and Suresh Krishnan went silent on 23 unanswered puzzles, which led to a strong reaction from users online.
‘Is it just me, or was tonight’s episode of #jeopardy painful to watch? As far as unanswered clues went, this episode had to be in the top 10,’ one person asked.
‘This seems to be a trend. I’m usually a wiz at this game but lately the clues seem convoluted. I wonder if @Jeopardy has hired new writers,’ another viewer added.

‘Jeopardy!’ fans were furious after the contestants on Tuesday’s episode failed to answer a ‘simple’ question about the Lord’s Prayer during the game
The shocker of an episode comes after another upsetting episode in which the players failed to answer a ‘simple’ question about the Lord’s Prayer during the game.
‘Matthew 6:9 says, “Our Father, which art in heaven, [THIS] be thy name,” Bialik said, asking the group to fill in the blank with the correct word.
The group made an error of biblical proportions by not even attempting to guess the correct answer as the stage remained silent until Bialik gave the answer.
Immediately after host Mayim Biyalik gave the group the answer, fans on Twitter started piling on with their anger at the contestants’ inability to answer the question.
If you guessed ‘hallowed,’ you would’ve been correct and would have netted $200.
‘Today, 3 Jeopardy contestants did not know the first line of the ‘Lord’s Prayer!’ Sad. Our Father, who art in heaven, ________ be thy name; They didn’t know the answer: ‘Hallowed.’ Pathetic,’ one person wrote.
‘That’s “hallowed,” you heathens! #Jeopardy,’ another added.
