A man has been found dead inside a tent at a popular beach on the Sunshine Coast.

Police were called to Mooloolaba Beach near Parkyn Parade just after 6am when the body was found in the early hours of Thursday morning. 

Police believe the man’s body was inside the tent, perched on the sand dunes, for five days before it was discovered by a lifeguard. 

The man is reported to be in his 60s with his death being treated as non-suspicious.
