Former President Trump turned on his former press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, criticizing her on his Truth Social on Tuesday night accusing her of sharing inaccurate poll numbers during an appearance on Fox News.

‘Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on Fox News. I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up,’ the former president wrote, using his nickname for Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis while incorrectly spelling the term milquetoast

‘While 25 is great, it’s not 34. She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!’ Trump continued.

The term milquetoast describes someone who is seen as bland or feeble.

Former aide, McEnany, 35, was the last person to serve in the role of White House press secretary before Trump’s presidency came to an end in January 2021 having started the in the role in April 2020.

While acknowledging that a 25-point poll lead is still significant, Trump emphasized that the correct number was 34 points.

He went onto state how he believed McEnany knew the correct figure but still went on to share the wrong information before concluding that she was aligned with ‘RINOS & Globalists’ and recommended that Fox News only feature ‘REAL Stars.’

During her appearance on the network’s show Outnumbered, McEnany briefly discussed recent polling in Iowa which suggests DeSantis is narrowing the gap with the former president since he formally announced his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination last week.

‘The Desantis team would say we just had polling comes out that shows we closed the gap by nine points since we announced in Iowa. Still, Trump is hugely ahead but they say they are closing the gap. If you look at polling it was Trump 34 in Iowa and its now 25. That’s double-digits.’

Although the poll referred to by Trump and McEnany was not identified a recent survey conducted by Emerson College Polling suggests Trump has a 42-point lead over DeSantis among Iowa voters.

In November, McEnany encouraged Trump to put his presidential campaign ‘on pause,’ while earlier this month Trump accused McEnany of speaking ‘favorably about DeSanctimonious.’

‘Kayleigh is the kindest person and was the best press secretary to ever step foot in the White House. There is ZERO excuse for degrading or belittling her to this degree over a few points. I am upset, and at a loss for words. This erratic behavior is concerning,’ tweeted Kambree.

‘No sorry you’re wrong…it’s called draining the swamp. She has flipped for DeSantis! He was very good to her when she worked for him. She turned her back on him. Be better!’ responded Leelee.

‘Trump was making a bigger point. Fox is in the tank for DeSantis. Kayleigh has to tow the line even if that means fudging numbers that favor DeSantis. Kayleigh like most is not wealthy and has to work to survive. She cannot push back against Fox. That’s the problem. So she’s decided to give her allegiance to money under Fox,’ said JCHowell, taking Trump’s side.

‘He does this to everybody and this is why some people don’t like him. I wish he would just focus on what matters and stop getting distracted with insulting people. It only makes him look bad, not a good PR moment at all,’ IamChristy.

‘I wish Trump had not said that. I like her and believes she deserves better from her former boss,’ wrote Kevin Westerlaken.

Clearly understanding the importance of winning over Republican primary voters in Iowa if he stands any chance of beating Trump in 2024, DeSantis began his presidential campaign in the state where he rallied with supporters outside Des Moines.

He is embarking on a four-day campaign tour that also includes visits to New Hampshire and South Carolina.

DeSantis came out guns blazing against President Joe Biden, Democratic policies and took veiled swipes at Donald Trump in his first campaign remarks since announcing his bid last week as he and wife Casey DeSantis dazzled in the state.

The Florida governor railed against the overrun border, spiking crime in Democratic cities, drug-out COVID-19 lockdowns, Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and lamented the president’s son Hunter would already be in jail if he were a Republican.

He vowed to send Biden ‘back to his basement,’ a call-back to the 2020 presidential election when the president conducted the majority of his campaign from a basement make-shift television studio.

‘We cannot permit the inmates to run the asylum,’ he said in reference to current Democratic leadership and the state of the country.

DeSantis also took swipes at his fellow Republicans, calling House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s debt ceiling deal with President Biden a way to ‘careen’ the country towards bankruptcy.

He distinguished himself from top competitor and former President Trump by claiming he isn’t running for president to get famous.

‘At the end of the day, leadership is not about entertainment,’ DeSantis said to massive cheers. ‘It’s not about building a brand. It’s not about virtue signaling. It’s about results.’

Trump is also scheduled to arrive in Iowa later this week.
