Two people died in a house fire in north London last night, as an investigation is launched into the cause of the inferno.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters raced to the blaze in Walthamstow which destroyed the end of terrace home.
London Fire Brigade firefighters discovered two people inside the property. They were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The fire service and Scotland Yard have launched a joint investigation into the cause of the fire.
Firefighters arrived at the home in Forest Road at 10.25pm and took nearly two hours to bring the flames under control, which had tore through the property and destroyed half of the roof.

A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: ‘A two-storey end-of-terraced house was destroyed by fire. Half of the roof was also damaged by fire.
‘Two people who were discovered inside the property by firefighters were sadly pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
‘The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers received nine calls about the fire.
‘The Brigade was called at 10.25pm and the fire was brought under control by 00.22am.
‘Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Walthamstow, Woodford, Leyton and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.’
