Woman ‘covered in burns’ flees apartment after allegedly being kidnapped by couple before cops confirm her worst fears about a man being held in the other room

A woman has been found with injuries all over her body, including burns, after she was allegedly kidnapped and held in an apartment for three days. 

The 44-year-old woman had allegedly been held captive at an apartment on Levitt Street at Wyong, on NSW‘s Central Coast, since Thursday.

She managed to flee the unit before getting a neighbour to contact police, who rushed to the scene on Saturday.

The alleged victim told police she was worried for a man being held in an adjacent room with officers confirming her worst fears after finding his dead body in the apartment.

NSW Police said the woman had told detectives she was concerned for the welfare of another man held at the unit.

Detectives discovered the body of the man, aged in his 50s, in a room.

Officers set up a crime scene and detectives have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 44-year-old woman was taken to Gosford Hospital to be treated for multiple injuries including burns.

A 30-year-old man was arrested at the unit and a 33-year-old woman was cuffed at a house on Charmain Street at Watanobbi.

The pair were taken to Wyong Police Station where they are assisting officers with their inquiries. 

One former resident who used to live on the street said the area was known to be a hotspot for drugs.

‘I used to live across from those units the police were always there something needs to be done about those units unfortunately it is filled with a lot of drugs,’ she said.
