North Vancouver Cyclist Killed after a collision with a dump truck driver in the city of North Vancouver Monday morning. The cause of the collision is under process.
On Monday morning, a cyclist was killed in a collision with a dump truck in North Vancouver.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 am near the junction of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street, according to North Vancouver Police.

Officers on their way to an unrelated incident came upon the scene near the junction of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street shortly after it occurred at 10:30 am.
The lady received “severe injuries,” according to Cst. Mansoor Sahak, a spokeswoman for the North Vancouver Police.
How Was 40 Years Old North Vancouver Cyclist? Accident Update
Officers were on their way to an unrelated incident when they came across the collision site and discovered the woman with “serious injuries,” according to Mounties.
Police said the victim was a 40-year-old woman from North Vancouver, and they were still attempting to contact next of kin.
“Officers promptly conducted life-saving efforts for the cyclist. However, she was unfortunately pronounced deceased by medical staff a short time afterward,” Const. Mansoor Sahak stated.
The truck driver remained on the site and is cooperating with authorities. The North Vancouver RCMP’s traffic unit and the Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service are still investigating the cause of the incident.
The accident happened about a block from the new Harry Jerome leisure center, which is being built. Drivers are advised to choose St. Georges Avenue or Chesterfield Avenue as alternate routes.
The traffic unit of the North Vancouver Police and the Integrated Crash Analyst Reconstruction Service is still on the scene near Centennial Theatre.
According to the North Vancouver Police, the northbound lane on Lonsdale Avenue is still closed until further notice.
According to Sahak, Police are currently investigating the reason for the crash. He added that the dump truck was turning right from 23rd Street north onto Lonsdale Avenue when the crash occurred.

North Vancouver Cyclist Killed Case Update And Arrest
The North Vancouver RCMP are asking for witnesses and dash-cam evidence to help them investigate a tragic incident between a bike and a commercial truck.
The accident happened just before 10:30 am on Monday near the junction of Lonsdale Avenue and 23rd Street in North Vancouver.
The cyclist has been identified as a 40-year-old North Vancouver resident. Authorities are in the process of notifying the next of kin.
The commercial vehicle’s driver remained on the site and worked with investigators. The collision’s cause is still being investigated.
“The pedestrian died at the scene,” said West Vancouver Police spokesman Const. Nicole Braithwaite. “This is a terrible occurrence involving an elderly male, and West Vancouver Police are thinking about the family now.”
West Vancouver Police have requested assistance from the RCMP’s Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Service, which has stopped the roadway while they are doing their investigation.
It’s too early to determine what transpired in the collision, according to Braithwaite, but the driver was in a large flatbed truck.
