According to a report of the arrest, an officer stopped Born around 7 pm because she kept driving over the white line in the bike path near the intersection of Highway 1 in Rockledge and Topsail Drive.
When the officials talked to her they noticed that her eyes were red and she was having trouble speaking clearly. They also smelled alcohol on her breath. The officials asked her to do some exercises to see if she was drunk but she didn’t do them well according to the reports. Brevard County Sees Second School Principal Arrested for DUI in the Same Week
Two school principals from Brevard County got arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The police officers arrested them during separate incidents over the weekend.
The police officers say that they arrested John Harris who is 62 years old and the principal of Heritage High School in Melbourne on Friday. The police report says that an officer saw Harris sitting in a car parked the wrong way at a Wawa gas station. He was honking the horn at another driver and the car was moving even though it was supposed to be turned off.
The report says that Harris did some tests to see if he was drunk and then he agreed to get arrested because the police officers thought he might have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
The police officers asked Harris to do a urine or breath test but he said no. They put him in the Brevard County jail but he got out later after paying $500. The school district made a statement right after the principals were arrested.
The school district said that both principals work for them but they are not working now. They won’t say anything more because it’s a personal issue and the police are handling it.
