Williams proved his worth as a starter for the LSU Tigers during 2016 and 2017. He amassed 1,124 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns in 2016.

In the succeeding year, he achieved a similar feat with 1,000 yards and ten touchdowns and supplemented his stats with 269 yards from 32 receptions.

Although the 2018 NFL draft passed without Williams’ name being called, his undeniable talent didn’t remain homeless for long. The Kansas City Chiefs quickly recognized his potential, signing him as an undrafted free agent.

Although he didn’t crack the primary lineup after training camp, he wasn’t sidelined entirely. Instead, he found himself honing his skills on the practice squad.

Williams’ breakthrough to the Chiefs’ active roster occurred in the 4th week of the 2018 season. His first NFL game played against the Los Angeles Chargers, saw him chalk up 100 yards and a touchdown.

In 2019, Williams’ role in the Chiefs grew substantially. He achieved 444 rushing yards and three touchdowns, also catching 25 passes for 182 yards.

Williams truly shined in 2020. He not only achieved 1,033 rushing yards and six touchdowns but also added 301 yards from 37 receptions to his stats. He played a significant part in the Chiefs’ triumph at Super Bowl LV.

By 2022, Williams was a free agent once more. He found a new home with the Arizona Cardinals, rushing for 310 yards and scoring two touchdowns in his 12 games with the team.
