Darren Drozdov was an American football player and professional wrestler.
In the NFL, he played football for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, & Denver Broncos.
After his football career, he started wrestling for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and used the name Puke.
Unfortunately, in 1999, he severely injured his spine during a match with D’Lo Brown, which ended his wrestling career.

Darren Drozdov Cancer: Did Accident Led To His Death?
Drozdov’s death was not caused by Cancer or by accident, as his family hasn’t revealed anything about it. Hence, Darren Drozdov Cancer speculations are but rumors.
But he had been paralyzed from the neck down since 1999, when he had a severe spinal cord injury during a wrestling match with D’Lo Brown on SmackDown! He lived for 24 years after the accident but faced many health problems.
The accident happened just a few months after the death of Owen Hart. Drozdov later said he was wearing a loose shirt during the match, which played a role in the accident.
When Brown tried to perform his signature move called the running powerbomb, he couldn’t get a good grip on Drozdov, and Drozdov couldn’t jump properly to help with the move.
Drozdov landed on his head and fractured two vertebrae in his neck. He was quickly taken to the Nassau County Medical Center, where he had surgery for hours to relieve and stabilize the pressure on his injured neck.
Since the match was recorded in advance, it was never shown to the public during the October 7 broadcast. Yet, in WWE’s public service announcements titled “Don’t Try This at Home,” footage of him being taken out on a stretcher has been shown.
Even though Darren Drozdov faced health challenges, he had a positive attitude. He said, “There’s always a new day. Just because I can’t move and am in a wheelchair doesn’t mean my life is finished.
I’ve learned to live again, and so much more will come in my life.” But sadly, he passed away on June 30, 2023.

We shared the ring on many occasions. He was an amazing person with a wonderful personality and wrestling skills.
We often talked about football and fishing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in peace, brother.”
The wrestling community mourned the loss of Drozdov, recognizing it as a tragic departure.
He was a skillful wrestler who had a strong fan following. People will remember him for his determination and optimistic outlook on life.
