Steven Spielberg is currently in good health and is not suffering from Cancer. However, about 20 years ago, he was at risk of developing Cancer.

In the early 2000s, Spielberg experienced Cancer symptoms and subsequently underwent kidney surgery. Doctors at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. found an irregularity during a routine physical exam, leading to the removal of one of his kidneys.

While the renowned director has not publicly disclosed the reason behind the surgery, kidney specialists suggest that a cancerous lesion was likely discovered during urinalysis. As reported by E.W., this abnormality was the reason for the surgery.

Spielberg, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, has fully recovered from the surgery and is not currently facing severe health issues. He enjoys a healthy lifestyle and living in luxurious real estate properties across the United States.

Growing up in New Jersey, the Hollywood icon struggled with reading, taking him over two years to learn how to read. During his junior high school years, he faced challenges due to his inability to read. His worst experiences were when he was asked to read from a book in front of his entire class.

About a decade ago, Spielberg spoke publicly about his struggles with dyslexia, a developmental reading disorder that makes it difficult for the brain to recognize and process certain symbols. He was officially diagnosed with the disorder in 2007.

Spielberg credits movies as his “great escape” and notes that they helped him overcome feelings of shame and guilt that he had put on himself due to his difficulties with dyslexia.

Spielberg attended California State University but dropped out after just one year due in part to his struggles with dyslexia and passion for filmmaking.

He began directing productions for Universal and quickly became one of the youngest directors ever to be signed. He has since directed 58 movies and shows, cementing his status as one of the industry’s most influential and acclaimed filmmakers.
