On Thursday night, April 6th, 2023, the head of the university, Mark Fuller, sent a message to the students and staff telling them what happened to Frank. This is very sad news for his family, and they are feeling very sad about his death.

A lot of people want to know more about what happened. According to the report, someone called the police on the UMass Dartmouth campus at around 5:30 PM to tell them about the incident.
Someone called the police and said that a person had been hit by a car on the UMass Dartmouth campus. When the police got there, they saw that Frank Petillo Jr was lying on Ring Road with very bad injuries.
The police looked at videos and talked to people who saw what happened. They found out that Frank was walking with a friend in front of his dorm and near some campus police when a car hit him. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital right away, but the doctors said that he had died.
The district attorney’s office said that Petillo got hit by a Honda Accord that was grey in color. Another student was driving the car. The person who hit Petillo stayed at the place where it happened.
