George Marrogi rose to infamy as a prominent figure in Melbourne’s criminal underworld, yet law enforcement authorities have an unequivocal warning for those contemplating emulating his path.
Marrogi received a 22-year prison sentence for orchestrating a global drug smuggling network while incarcerated, with assistance from his girlfriend, Antonietta Mannella.
According to statements made by her lawyer, Colin Mandy SC, Antoinette Mannella became blinded by her affection for a prominent Melbourne criminal figure, leading her to assist in smuggling drugs valued at $55 million.
In the County Court, Mandy claimed, “Her emotions clouded her judgment as she developed a deep attachment to George Marrogi.”
Additionally, he was jailed following a jury’s verdict of his guilt in the shooting death of Kadir Ors.
Using 13 bullets, George Marrogi fired multiple shots at Mr. Ors, including five additional rounds, while the victim lay injured on the ground outside an Officeworks store.
Marrogi faced four trials related to the murder case, and in December 2021, a jury found him guilty. Consequently, he was sentenced to 32 years in prison.
During the murder trial, Marrogi’s lawyers highlighted deficiencies in the prosecution’s case based on circumstantial evidence, such as concerns with DNA proof and inconsistencies in the timeline of Marrogi’s movements after the shooting.

Meshlin Marrogi DID: George Marrogi Sister Funeral And Death Cause
In September 2021, Meshlin Marrogi, the sister of George Marrogi, tragically passed away from COVID-19; however, whether she had been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) before her death is unknown.
Due to George’s imprisonment, he was not granted permission to attend his sister’s funeral.
In a further unfortunate turn of events, on September 27 of that same year, Marrogi was arrested by homicide squad detectives for his alleged involvement in the execution-style murder of Ors.
Having spent 15 out of the last 16 years of his life behind bars, Marrogi could not be present at his sister’s funeral.
The loss of Meshlin Marrogi, who succumbed to complications related to COVID-19, deeply affected her brother.
It is worth noting that she had unknowingly accompanied Marrogi to Highpoint Shopping Centre, where he had gone to assess the type of hoodie he wished to wear during the alleged murder of Ors.
George Marrogi and Girlfriend Antonietta Mannella Sentenced for Multi-Million-Dollar Drug Scheme
Melbourne Crime Kingpin George Marrogi and his girlfriend, Antonietta Mannella, have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms in Victoria’s County Court for their involvement in a multi-million-dollar drug operation.
Their unlawful activities included importing a significant quantity of drugs concealed within green tea packages, among other methods.
Marrogi, who is already serving a sentence for murder, will now have to wait until his 60s before becoming eligible for parole.
Despite being incarcerated in the maximum security Barwon Prison, Marrogi orchestrated the drug scheme by covertly communicating with Mannella, who executed his instructions outside.
Superintendent Hall, speaking to the ABC, described their criminal enterprise as revolving around importing illegal drugs and causing harm to the Australian community, indicating that it served as their primary business model.
