“I’m so grateful to every member of the cast and crew,” said the 54-year-old in an interview on “The Graham Norton Show”, adding: “When you go through something like that and make a film that is so intense, you can you just can’t do it alone and you have to lean on others.” In the film, Hugh plays the father of a boy struggling with mental health issues. The emotional shooting would have inspired the father of two to reconsider his role as a parent and to change it a bit.
Hugh mentioned how close he was to his late father in The Guardian a few weeks ago. “My mum left us when I was eight years old – so my dad raised us, he instilled really great values in me.” The Golden Globes winner continued: “He was never interested in things like money and fame, he advised us to get a good education and treat the people around us well.”
