Meet Dylan Cozens Family, Mike Cozens and Sue Bogle. Proud parents of the young rising star watch him score his first career hat trick at National Hockey League (NHL).
Dylan Cozens started ice skating in his backyard rink built by his father Mike at the young age of 3. Later he learned to play ice hockey in it.
Dylan often played against older opponents since there were limited hockey players in Whitehorse. In a house league game, young Dylan broke his leg to an adult player at the age of 12. This incident made the Cozens family and Dylan himself consider playing with his age group outside Wighthorse.
So, at the young age of 14, Dylan moved to British Columbia to develop his skills at the Delta Hockey Academy. He scored 19 goals and 31 points in 25 regular season games during Delta’s 2015-2016 season.
Later Dylan participated with the Delta team in the 2016 John Reid Memorial Bantam Tournament in January. With 9 goals and 15 points in six games, he led all tournament players and was named to the Reid Division All-Star Team.

Meet Dylan Cozens Family, Mike Cozens and Sue Bogle who are both Legal specialists. Dylan’s mom and dad are both experienced Lawyers and has got a demonstrated history working for the government prosecution industry.
Following his under-18 career, Dylan joined the 2020 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic and became the first Yukon player to represent the Canada men’s national junior ice hockey team. Canada defeated Russia 4–3 in the championship match.
During this particular match, Mike Cozens and Sue Bogle were very proud of their son for winning the gold medal for his team by scoring 2 goals and 7assists in seven World Junior games.
Mike Cozens said Dylan came a long way from the little kid in the kitchen with a hockey stick looking to play in their backyard rink in Whitehorse. Alongside his wife Sue, Mike said “It’s hard to find words to describe what has really happened. Time flies,” from their home in Yukon’s capital.
The Cozens family wasn’t disappointed at all. Their hometown hero scored the first goal of the game between Canada and Russia.
In June 2019, Cozen became the first Yukoner to be selected in the first round of the NHL Draft. As the seventh pick overall he was taken by the Buffalo Sabres. But Mike says Sunday’s win against Russia was something else.
Dylan Cozens Age And Siblings
Dylan Cozens was born Feb 9, 2001, at Whitehorse, Yukon Terr. The “Workhorse from Whitehorse” is a professional Canadian ice hockey center for the Buffalo Sabres. As of today, he is a 22-year-old star for the people of Whitehorse, Yukon.
Dylan is the oldest son in the family and as for his siblings, he has two younger brothers named Connor who is 18 years old and Luke who is 15 years old. All these three young men grew up playing ice hockey in their house’s backyard.
Mike would maintain the backyard rink by adding homemade boards, obstacles like the gravel base, and sometimes, poking up through the newly flooded ice just to let his boys enjoy themselves to their fullest and make it more accessible for them.
For Cozens’s professional career, he joined the Sabres for the 2020–21 season and made his NHL debut on January 14, 2021. Even though the Washington Capitals won the game against the Buffalo Sabres in a 6–4 victory. Dylan recorded his first NHL point with an assist on Tobias Rieder’s second-period goal.
Recently the Buffalo Sabres signed Cozen to a 7-year contract extension worth $49.7 million on February 7, 2023.
