She reminded me of a great fashion icon! With her halftime show at the Super Bowl, Rihanna (34) delighted an audience of millions on Sunday night. The happy news of her second pregnancy was hidden behind her eye-catching stage outfit – but there was another message hidden under her floor-length coat, which she slipped on during her performance: Rihanna paid tribute to ex-Vogue boss André Leon with her fiery red cape Talley tribute!

As reported by Dailymail, the singer’s fans are sure: the “Umbrella” interpreter’s coat was a tribute to the fashion journalist who died last January at the age of 73. The official Instagram account of the first African-American Vogue creative director also understood the fashionable gesture as an appreciation for the deceased. Shortly after the performance, a photo of André in the said red garment was posted – with the words of a well-known Rihanna song: “When the sun shines, we’ll shine together. Told you I’ll be here forever… said I’ll always be your friend.”

Underneath the Instagram post are many comments from fans wondering if Rihanna might have even worn the fashion legend’s original coat. However, this question was soon answered: The coat of the 34-year-old was a special production of the fashion label Alaïa.
