Attention horror film fans! “I know what you did last summer” was released in cinemas in 1997 and is still a cult hit today. It tells the story of several teenage girls who accidentally hit a man and throw him into the sea, only to end up being pursued by a brutal killer themselves. Two sequels followed the slasher flicks. Now there’s even another “I know what you did last summer” part coming – possibly even with the original cast!
As Entertainment Tonight announced, a sequel to the horror classic is in the works. And not only that: The production should even be in conversation with the original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt (43) and Freddie Prinze Junior (46) and want to get them on board. Contracts have reportedly not yet been signed. The whole thing is still at an early stage. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is set to direct. Neal H. Moritz will serve as producer and Leah McKendrick will pen the screenplay.
The makers obviously want to build on the success of Scream. This horror film series from the 1990s was only continued last year with new and familiar faces from the original cast and was convincing. A sixth part will soon be in the cinemas and will bring back some big stars.
