Following the passing of the veteran comic actor, John Ikechukwu Okafor, famously known as Mr. Ibu at the age of 62, Nigerians are urging Premier League football club, Chelsea to acknowledge him in their next home game.

Mr. Ibu succumbed to death after a prolonged struggle with health complications that ultimately resulted in the amputation of one of his legs.

His support for Chelsea was evident as shared during a 2017 interview, where he revealed that when his wife put to bed abroad, she named the baby girl Chelsea before he arrived, which shows that the whole family love Chelsea FC.

Additionally, he disclosed that he also named his residence after Chelsea’s iconic home stadium, Stamford Bridge, emphasizing his profound affection for the club.

He said:

 “I love Chelsea with all my blood. My wife gave birth to a baby girl outside the country. Even before I saw my baby, she already gave her Chelsea. That is to tell you..in my house, my house is called Stamford Bridge.”

Sharing the video, an X user identified as @oyimzy wrote:

“Mr Ibu’s daughter is named Chelsea and his house is called Stamford Bridge, this Nollywood legend deserves a tribute of some sort at Chelsea’s next home game.”
