One Chelsea player has been spotted lacing up his boots for first team training ahead of tomorrow night’s match against Manchester City.

Pictures on the club’s official Instagram show defender Malo Gusto getting ready to join his teammates, just days after there were concerns over his fitness.

Gusto has proven to be quite the important player for the Blues in recent weeks, with him showing many just how good he is at just 20 years of age.

His presence has been essential in the wake of injury problems to captain Reece James, however the fact the England international has not been missed too much in recent weeks is a statement in itself.

He has picked up assists in each of his last two games, with his crossing proving to be a real strength in his game.

Reliance on Gusto has also seen there be plenty of attention paid on his fitness. He has been impacted by his fair share of injuries so far this season.

Some Chelsea fans feared the worst when he was replaced late in the day against Crystal Palace, as the Blues completed their dramatic turnaround.

Even if manager Mauricio Pochettino came out and said the decision was made due to fatigue, it is difficult to always believe he is sometimes not telling the whole truth.

However, there was good news in the form of a social media post by the Blues, where the £30m signing was seen lacing up his boots with the rest of the team.

There may still be an argument for some to rest the 20-year-old for the league game this weekend against Manchester City, taking into account the magnitude of the following game in the form of the EFL Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley to come at the end of this month.
