Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca will have a lot of talented attackers to work with when he begins his new job on July 1.

The Blues currently have the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling as options for the forward line.

A couple of Chelsea attackers have actually been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, but the club would be wise to keep hold of at least one of them. He could easily be like a new signing under the team’s new manager.

Which Chelsea attackers are being linked with moves away from the club?

After a bit of a disappointing season, there has been a lot of talk about Sterling potentially leaving Chelsea this summer.

The winger, who scored just eight goals in 31 Premier League appearances, has recently been linked with a move to Fenerbahce.

The reliable Fabrizio Romano has addressed those rumours, claiming that Sterling’s camp are adamant that there has been no contact with the Turkish club. Nevertheless, with Maresca coming in, it will be interesting to see what happens with the 29-year-old.

As well as Sterling, his teammate Nkunku has also been in the headlines.

Christopher Nkunku could explode under Enzo Maresca

Nkunku has reportedly been the subject of enquiries, but Chelsea would be incredibly foolish to entertain any of them.

The Frenchman is a goalscorer, netting 23 times in his last season at RB Leipzig before his £52m move to Chelsea.

Nkunku has not been able to show that at Stamford Bridge yet because of injury, but he is fit again and scored in Chelsea’s penultimate game of the 2023/24 campaign.

If Nkunku can remain fit next season and rediscover his Leipzig form, then that would basically be a new signing for Chelsea and Maresca, a very good one.

Perhaps Chelsea will move one or two attackers on in the upcoming transfer window to accommodate the arrival of a new signing, with there being plenty of talk about Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise potentially coming in. Nkunku, though, is not an individual who should be sacrificed.
