Chelsea have quite an exciting pre-season coming up.

They, of course, have a new manager in Enzo Maresca at the helm, while they are going to play some big teams when they head off to the United States.

There, Chelsea will take on European champions Real Madrid and Premier League champions Manchester City.

Levi Colwill will be part of Maresca’s squad for the club’s pre-season tour of America.

However, it is another team who Colwill is really excited about playing this summer.

Levi Colwill sends message to Chelsea fans ahead of pre-season tour

Chelsea supporters will be excited about the Real Madrid match, where they may get to see their team go up against the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.

However, the game that Colwill is actually looking forward to is the clash against the Scottish champions Celtic, and the central defender has told Blues fans to be ready for it.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, he said: “I’m looking forward to playing Celtic, it will be a good game.

“I think their fans will definitely be up for it, so we’re definitely going to need ours to match them and be even better. But I think it’ll be a great game out there.”

Chelsea’s pre-season could reveal a lot about Enzo Maresca’s plans for Levi Colwill

Colwill spent a large part of the 2023/24 campaign playing at left-back, something the 21-year-old admitted he was not always comfortable about.

Colwill is obviously a centre-back by trade, so it will be interesting to see where Maresca uses him during pre-season.

It could indicate what he plans to do with the England international in the new season.

With Thiago Silva gone, Colwill will feel more confident about his chances of starting at left centre-back.

Of course, there is still Benoit Badiashile who can play there, while the arrival of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham means competition has not actually decreased yet despite Silva’s exit.
