Chelsea have a lot of talented players in their squad and Marc Cucurella has been speaking about one of them.

While Mauricio Pochettino‘s men are not doing well in the Premier League right now, the talent is there.

Chelsea are currently ninth in the table and are at risk of missing out on European football once again.

Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer are just a couple of gifted players in Pochettino’s squad at the moment.

The latter is having a fantastic season, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions. He could not make too much of an impact in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, finding it difficult to find space against Unai Emery’s side.

Marc Cucurella likes Chelsea teammate a lot

As well as Fernandez and Palmer, Chelsea also have the likes of Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke.

The latter has not made too many starts in the Premier League this season, making just eight in total.

However, Cucurella still thinks he is a really good player and loves how he is able to beat defenders.

In an interview with The Athletic, the left-back said: “He is a really good player. He is a player I like a lot. He is good one-on-one and can score a lot of goals. This is the way he needs to stay.

“He is doing a good job and can help the team in this way. We all need to improve a lot because we play for Chelsea and we need to win every game. But we are very happy with Noni.”

Noni Madueke FBref

FBref is a football statistics website that uses data from Opta and looking at it, you can see just how good Madueke really is in one-v-one situations.

Over the last year, Madueke has averaged 3.63 successful take-ons per 90 minutes, putting him in the 98th percentile among attacking midfielders and wingers for that category.

Costing just £30m, Madueke could prove to be a bargain if he can complement his dribbling with a bit more end product like in the game against Villa.

Had it not been for a controversial VAR call, the England U21 international would have helped his side earn all three points.
