Chelsea confirmed yet another new signing this summer on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blues have announced on their official website that they’ve completed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 25, from Premier League rivals Leicester City.

Dewsbury-Hall has penned a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, which includes an additional one-year option.

The English central midfielder certainly has the upper hand that he was coached last season by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, with the pair both influential in achieving Leicester promotion from the Championship.

Now, the duo are reunited in an environment where the pressure is significantly raised.

BBC Sport claims that Chelsea have paid £30m to sign Leicester’s Player of the Season from last year.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall excited by reunion with Wesley Fofana at Chelsea

Chelsea’s newest signing has shared in his first interview with the club’s media that he can’t wait to play on the pitch again with Blues centre-back Wesley Fofana. The pair previously played together for a brief time at Leicester.

Fofana, who earns £200,000,-a-week (Spotrac), must be desperate to play himself after missing the whole of last season with his long-term injury.

Dewsbury-Hall said via Chelsea’s official website: “Wesley sent me a message the other day. Quite excited to be fair, we get on really well, me and Wes.

“We had a great partnership on the pitch, so it’ll be lovely to play with him again.

“He’s obviously said really nice things about Chelsea and I’m really looking forward to getting back on the pitch with him again because he’s a top player.”

Is this a good deal for Chelsea?

The Chelsea Chronicle is fairly optimistic about Dewsbury-Hall joining the club.

There’s been a lot of incomings from Leicester in recent years, particularly in midfield.

So, will Dewsbury-Hall go on and emulate this success of N’Golo Kante? Or will he flop like Danny Drinkwater?

At the age of 25, Dewsbury-Hall looks like he’s about to hit his prime and he offers Chelsea a threat as a genuine goalscoring midfielder.
