Since taking over Chelsea, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have not made the most popular of decisions.

For example, under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea have sacked Champions League-winning manager Thomas Tuchel and sold former fan favourite Mason Mount.

The Blues also allowed Armando Broja to leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, which was a questionable decision at the time and even more so now.

The 22-year-old’s loan move to Fulham is not really working out for anyone at present.

Armando Broja’s loan

Chelsea’s decision to allow Broja to join Fulham on loan never looked wise. It left Nicolas Jackson as the only recognised centre-forward in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.

Christopher Nkunku can also play up front, but he has not been able to stay fit this season and picked up another injury recently.

Some at Chelsea may now be thinking it would have been better to have kept Broja at the club, especially with the Albania international not even playing at Fulham right now.

He was not included in Fulham’s matchday squad for their 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday, meaning that the Cottagers will now have to pay their west London rivals a £4m fee.

Would keeping Broja have transformed Chelsea’s season and got them into the top four? Probably not. He has actually only scored three goals in total for the club.

Still, Broja would have been another option to Jackson, another body, something Pochettino could do with following Nkunku’s latest injury problem.

Cole Palmer can also start as a false 9 at least, while Jackson has found a bit of form of late. The 22-year-old has scored in recent games against Newcastle United and Brentford.

All in all, Broja could have been a useful squad player for the rest of the season, but his Chelsea career now looks to be over. It has been reported that he is up for sale.
