Striker may not be the only attacking position Chelsea strengthen in the summer transfer window.

There has been plenty of talk about Chelsea signing a new centre-forward ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, for example, continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. It has been claimed that the Blues are already in talks to bring the 25-year-old in.

However, as well as a No.9, it looks like Chelsea could also try to add another winger to their squad.

Nico Williams has been mentioned and now another name has come up.

Chelsea ‘really like’ Premier League winger

In recent transfer windows, Chelsea have not been afraid to sign players from within the Premier League despite their huge price tags.

Last summer, they bought both Moises Caicedo and Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion, while Marc Cucurella was signed from the same club a year before that.

Their eyes could now turn to another Premier League star.

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack that Chelsea “really like” West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen, though a deal is seen as unlikely because of the length of his current contract.

Bowen has been a key player for West Ham this season, scoring 15 goals in 31 top-flight appearances.

Why Chelsea signing Jarrod Bowen would make perfect sense

Bowen is a goal threat and can play on the right. His arrival could see Cole Palmer move to the No.10 position, where he is likely to see more of the ball.

The 27-year-old England international, who was described as “unbelievable” by Jurgen Klopp a couple of years ago, can start up top as well.

The centre-forward position has been a bit of a problem for Chelsea this term.

Nicolas Jackson has been hit and miss and is the only natural No.9 currently in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.

Bowen would tick a lot of boxes for Chelsea, but it would probably take an offer that would make him one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history for West Ham to even consider a sale.
