One Chelsea legend has been linked with a surprise move to one of their biggest Premier League rivals.

N’golo Kante had been somewhat of a forgotten man in European football since he left Stamford Bridge a year ago to move to Saudi Arabia.

However, Kante reminded everyone of his quality at Euro 2024, being one of the most important players for France throughout the tournament.

It looks as if those performances impressed more than just the pundits though, with West Ham United reportedly showing an interest in signing him.

The midfielder enjoyed a number of successful years at Stamford Bridge when he was here, with him winning near enough every trophy available to him.

Chelsea fans don’t want Kante at West Ham

Chelsea supporters seem to have made their mind up when it comes to what they hope happens with Kante, and they are not excited about the prospect of seeing him in a rival’s shirt.

One user took to Twitter to say: “I don’t think Kante will even want to go to West Ham out of respect to Chelsea. They’re our London rivals fgs. He left England entirely because of respect to Chelsea, so I’d be shocked if he accepted to return to England and not to Chelsea but a London rival team.”

Another added: “Chelsea should not allow this happen. Kante in England should only be in Chelsea Shirt.”

A third stated: “I speak for all Chelsea fans that we don’t want to see Kante in any other premier league shirt except for his Chelsea and Leicester past.”

Another claimed: “N’Golo Kante is a rare gem, no club would want to trade him especially after his performance at the Euro 2024. Plus him joining West Ham after leaving Chelsea doesn’t sound right.”

Finally, one user said: “Chelsea need to bid for Kante to stop West Ham getting him.”

Plenty of midfielders at Chelsea

The Blues are already looking pretty stacked in midfield for next season, and have a number of players available to them who weren’t last season.

Romeo Lavia has been a regular in pre-season training up to now, with him only managing one appearance for his new club last summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall became a transfer target after Enzo Maresca was hired, and the addition of him suggests there is plenty of backing to the new boss going forwards.
