Whether fans were at Stamford Bridge or just watching from home, it was clear who was going to be on their mind after watching last night’s thrilling win over Manchester United.

Cole Palmer showed his class yet again for the Blues, scoring a hat-trick and winning the game for Chelsea in dramatic circumstances.

He scored twice in the final moments of added time, with the latter being the latest winning goal scored in Premier League history.

Palmer stars for Chelsea

This of course shows why everyone was talking about him, with him moving to second in the standings for the golden boot this season too.

However, there is another player who featured for Chelsea who deserves a lot of credit, with their display likely going under the radar.

Enzo Fernandez has often lifted his game when it comes to facing big teams, and this was no different last night.

Fernandez deserves real credit

The real shining moments came when normal midfield partner Moises Caicedo was actually replaced following a rough evening in the middle of the park.

This allowed the Argentine to drop deeper, dictating the tempo of play like Chelsea fans have known all this time he can do.

Whether it has been a tactical decision that has stopped him fulfilling his potential or perhaps him simply not performing to his best, there was no doubting that last night he showed how important a player he is to this Chelsea team when firing.

Supporters will also be a big fan to how he reacted at full-time, particularly when he was located close to Mason Mount, who was making his return to Stamford Bridge.

He passionately celebrated in the face of the England international, echoing a feeling that supporters had when he came onto the pitch a few minutes before the end, when it looked like the Blues were going to lose out.

With there just a few days until they are back in action, Fernandez will certainly be involved again when they travel to Sheffield United on Saturday.
