Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor says he would take Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher over one Manchester United player.
Conor Gallagher has been excellent for Chelsea this season, scoring in games against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa just before the Blues’ recent 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Speaking on talkSPORT (22/02/2024 at 09:12), Gabby Agbonlahor has now claimed that he would rather have Gallagher in his side than Casemiro.
It has been a difficult season for the Brazilian, who has missed a large chunk of it because of injury and picked up a red card in United’s torrid Champions League campaign.
United and Chelsea next play each other in April, with the former winning 2-1 the last time they met.

Confident that Gallagher would provide more running and energy in midfield than Casemiro, Agbonlahor would go for the former if he had to pick one.
Asked if he would rather have Gallagher, the retired forward said: “Definitely. He would give more legs in midfield.”

Conor Gallagher does provide legs in midfield
In Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Crystal Palace earlier this month, in which Gallagher scored two goals in, the 24-year-old ran 13km, something that surprised him.
It is clear to see, then, that energy is one thing that Gallagher brings to the table. It is probably one reason why Tottenham Hotspur really want the Englishman.
According to The Sun, Tottenham are interested in Gallagher and the Chelsea star is valued at £50m.
However, with his contract running down, that value could drop in the summer. The England international’s current deal expires in 2025.
If that does not get renewed, you would expect Spurs and maybe a couple of other Premier League clubs to bid for Gallagher. It is something that Chelsea need to sort out and quickly.
