There were a lot of talking points in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
Cole Palmer’s ridiculous panenka penalty is, of course, worth mentioning, then there was Lorenz Assignon’s sending off just before Chelsea‘s spot-kick.
Prior to taking the lead, the Blues also scored a disallowed goal, with Axel Disasi penalised for using his arm to beat Arijanet Muric.
The main line, though, is obviously Burnley being able to come from behind twice with 10 men to earn a point.
However, had the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling been more clinical, Chelsea would have walked away with all three.

Kris Boyd stunned by what Chelsea player did
Jackson missed a couple of good opportunities, resulting in criticism from ESPN pundit Steve Nicol.
Sterling did not have too many chances after coming on as a second-half substitute.

However, the one that he did squander was a glorious one and left Rangers legend Kris Boyd almost speechless.
Covering the game for Sky Sports, Boyd said: “What a sitter, what a sitter! Oh my days! Cole Palmer, lovely ball in there, Raheem Sterling, just off the back, and he just heads it past.
“I don’t know what he’s doing. It’s unbelievable movement as well. He uses his pace to get away there. Just push it into the back of the net, tries to be too precise and just heads it straight pass the post. What an opportunity that was.”
Why Raheem Sterling should not start against Manchester United
Chelsea’s next game is another Premier League clash against Manchester United.
Given the opposition, Mauricio Pochettino may be tempted to restore Sterling to his starting XI, but there is good reason not to.
Mykhailo Mudryk was a real threat against Burnley yesterday, winning Chelsea their penalty, while Sterling’s record versus United is an infamous one.
Despite having faced the Red Devils 25 times in his career, the 29-year-old has never managed to score against them.
Nicol feels Sterling, who cost Chelsea £50m when he joined the club from Manchester City in 2022, has become a bit of a villain at Stamford Bridge. A goal on Thursday could change that, but he is not someone Pochettino should be starting right now, especially if the opposing team are United.
