Chelsea fans have spotted a player on the Blues’ tactics board who should not be there in John Terry’s latest social media picture.

Terry has returned to Chelsea as an academy coach after a short stint as a coach at Leicester, where he could not save them from relegation alongside Dean Smith.

It sees the legendary defender back at the club’s Cobham training ground following his spell at the King Power Stadium.

And the Blues icon took to social media to express his delight at returning to his beloved Chelsea.

That included a picture with new boss Mauricio Pochettino in the manager’s office, where a tactics board featured in the background.

However, eagle-eyed fans have spotted one player on the board who should not be there – Mason Mount.

The England international was sold to Manchester United this summer in a deal worth up to £60million.

It came after a contract wrangle with Chelsea that could not be solved.

And rather than allow Mount to leave for nothing next year on a free transfer, Stamford Bridge chiefs sought to offload him, succeeding by selling him to United.

But with a flurry of changes happening in west London, it appears that someone has forgotten to remove him completely from the club.

One fan replied: “Tell the gaffer to update his tactics board.”

Another wrote: “Who sees Mount on the training chart behind?”

And a third tweet read: “An update to the player board might be needed at Chelsea.”

Mount’s departure from Chelsea caused outrage among the fanbase, particularly after a clip of his father in awe of Old Trafford went viral.

The 24-year-old is just one of several departures from Stamford Bridge this summer, though including Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City and Kai Havertz to Arsenal.

With N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also leaving, it has left Chelsea’s midfield looking threadbare.

Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei are still expected to be loaned out, as well, although Pochettino wants a look at them in case he wants them in the first-team.

But a move for Brighton star Moises Caicedo remains in the pipeline with personal terms already agreed.

Southampton ace Romeo Lavia is also on the shortlist, although Liverpool are also keen on the ex-Man City midfielder, as well as Celta Vigo starlet Gabri Veiga.
