Shaka Hislop collapsed during a live TV broadcast ahead of Real Madrid and AC Milan’s friendly in California.
The former West Ham and Newcastle goalkeeper was working as an analyst for ESPN when he stumbled and fell forward to the ground at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

ESPN quickly cut away from the scene, as co-presenter Dan Thomas called for assistance.
Temperatures in California were reportedly in excess of 30C, however it is unknown if that played a factor in Hislop’s collapse.
Thomas gave a positive update on his colleague’s condition a short while later.
In an update at half-time, Thomas said: “My mate, Shaka, not here, but as it stands, it’s good news.
“He’s conscious. He’s talking. I think he’s a little embarrassed about it all. He’s apologised profusely. Not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him.
“Obviously far too early to make any sort of diagnosis, but the important thing is that Shaka’s conscious and we spoke to his family as well, because you imagine seeing that happen live.”
To highlight he was in a better way, Hislop himself joked in a social media video post: “Well, that was awkward. What a 24 hours this has been.”
He didn’t offer any reason for his collapse, but added: “‘Listen, every so often life gives you moment to pause and this was mine.

“I have so much to be thankful for. My wife, kids, family, loved ones, friends, people I’ve shared a space with over the years and have lost touch with for whatever reason and have reached out, either directly or indirectly, thank you.”
The 54-year-old played 132 times, across two spells, for West Ham two from 1998 to 2002 and 2005 to 2006.
Hislop played international football for Trinidad and Tobago, winning 26 caps. The former goalkeeper also had spells with Reading, Newcastle and Portsmouth, before finishing in the MLS with FC Dallas.
