Chelsea were extremely active in the last summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson.
They also signed Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic in a goalkeeper revamp.
However, journalist Simon Phillips has now claimed on Substack that Chelsea have concerns about their ability on the ball and there “has been discussions” about it at the club.
Sanchez became Chelsea’s No.1 following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move to Real Madrid last summer. However, the 26-year-old now looks to have lost his starting spot.
Sanchez picked up an injury in December, resulting in Petrovic coming into the team and the Serbian has not looked back. Despite the former being fit again, Mauricio Pochettino went for the latter in yesterday’s Carabao Cup final defeat against Liverpool.

Based on the above and the fact that Chelsea keep being linked with other goalkeepers, it is quite clear that there are doubts at the club about Sanchez and Petrovic.
According to journalist Dean Jones, the Blues could enter the race to sign Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale in the summer.

We do not think the goalkeeper position is actually Chelsea’s biggest problem right now, though. It certainly was not yesterday.
What cost the Blues in the Carabao Cup final was some poor marking and bad finishing. The latter can be fixed using the transfer market.
Ultimately, then, you suspect that Chelsea bringing in a new striker in the summer will be the club’s priority, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen reported to be their main target.
If Chelsea can sign a genuine upgrade on Sanchez or Petrovic, then great. But if not, it really is not the end of the world. Pochettino’s men are not losing games right now because of bad goalkeeping, it is what is happening at the other end of the pitch that is costing the team every week.
