Chelsea could receive an offer for one of their players this week.

Several Chelsea stars could leave Stamford Bridge this summer as the club try to stay in line with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

The likes of Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja, for example, have all been linked with moves away from west London.

Maatsen spent the second half of this season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and it is thought that they want to keep hold of him, while Chalobah is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United.

Bid for Chelsea player imminent

If Chelsea really do need to make some money this summer, then it looks like they will have the opportunity to receive some soon.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Dortmund are expected to make a bid for Maatsen soon and it could possibly even arrive this week.

However, it is going to be less than the £35m release clause in his contract.

In his column for Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Jacobs wrote: “Maatsen has a £35m release clause and Dortmund view signing him as a high priority.

“Their opening bid is expected to come soon, maybe even this week, but be under £25m. Chelsea are going to push for more.”

Will Borussia Dortmund sign Ian Maatsen from Chelsea permanently?

It has been claimed that Maatsen is also attracting interest from La Liga.

If that interest is coming from Real Madrid, who just beat Maatsen and Dortmund in the Champions League final, or Barcelona, then that would really complicate things for the German side.

But if not, then there is probably a good chance of Maatsen remaining at Signal Iduna Park after his successful loan spell there.

Dortmund, however, may have to trigger the Netherlands U21 international’s release clause, something they currently look reluctant to do.

For now, though, Dortmund are probably the favourites to sign Maatsen permanently this summer.
