Chelsea star Cole Palmer has really impressed this season following his move from Manchester City.

As a result, Cole Palmer has managed to win his first two England caps, making his Three Lions debut against Malta back in November.

The attacker has now told ESPN that it would be “amazing” if he got called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros.

If Palmer can maintain the form that he is in, then there is certainly a good chance of him going. In 22 Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season, the 21-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice recently praised his England team-mate.

Cole Palmer dreaming of England call-up

While Palmer says he is taking things one game at a time, the Chelsea man has admitted that it would be amazing if he saw his name included in Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

When asked if heading to Germany in the summer is a realistic target, Palmer said: “I’m not too sure. I’m just trying to take each game as it comes and if I get picked for the Euros, it would be amazing.”

Cole Palmer deserves to be included in England squad

Palmer has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season, notching up 17 goal contributions so far.

If Southgate is going to base his selection on form, then the former City man obviously deserves to go.

However, Southgate does not always do that, often going with players who are tried and tested. It would not be a surprise if he went with that approach once again, which would be bad news for Palmer.

Fortunately for Palmer, though, he is still just 21. There will be plenty of other international tournaments in the future that he can go to if the Three Lions boss snubs him in the summer. But with the way Palmer is playing right now, Southgate would have to be a mad man to exclude him from his roster.
