Jorginho has joked the Arsenal squad – like the fans – have no clue when the club will announce the signings of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.

Both players completed their medicals at London Colney last week, with it hoped they would fly out to Germany to face Nurnberg later on Thursday.

It’s been two weeks since the Gunners lodged their record-breaking offer to West Ham for skipper Rice in a deal rising to £105million.

Meanwhile Arsenal and Ajax have agreed a £40m transfer for versatile defender Timber, with his brother already letting slip that a deal is all-but done after sharing an image from his farewell party.

There are fears from fans that the duo will not be announced before the Arsenal squad fly out for their pre-season tour in America on Sunday.

Even Jorginho has been left mystified, as he offered a brilliant response to a fan during a Q&A session on new social media app The Residency.

A supporter asked the Brazilian-born Italy international, ‘when are Rice and Timber joining?’, with Jorginho replying: “Good question. No idea.”

His message included two laughing face emojis, with his admission coming amid reports West Ham are growing increasingly frustrated with Arsenal.

The Sun have stated that Hammers chiefs are fuming with the Gunners that the transfer hasn’t been completed – nine days after an agreement was reached over the payment structure.

David Moyes’ side fear they could lose out on targets as they don’t have the funds yet, with Leicester winger Harvey Barnes now being eyed up by Newcastle.

They state that Arsenal lawyers are yet to sign off on Rice’s contract, despite personal terms being agreed.

The drawn-out process is claimed to have left a ‘bitter taste’ in the mouths of the West Ham hierarchy.

Though it is believed that the deals for Rice and Timber are not in any danger of collapsing, with both transfers to be announced in the near future.

And while Jorginho hasn’t got an update regarding Rice and Timber, he has been left delighted by reuniting with ex-Chelsea teammate Kai Havertz following the German’s arrival at the Emirates.

Asked by fans about the transfer on The Residency, Jorginho said: “So so so happy, and everyone else will be.”

Another supporter asked about their connection, to which he replied: “Great connection between us. I’m so happy he joined us.”

Fans will get first look at Havertz in action for Arsenal when they face German side Nurnberg at 6pm at the Max-Morlock-Stadion.
