Liverpool will consider joining the race for Moises Caicedo if they lose Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia, talkSPORT understands.

Chelsea are very keen to sign Brighton midfielder Caicedo, who the Seagulls value at £100m.

But the Blues could have competition for the Ecuadorian as Jurgen Klopp continues his midfield reconstruction.

The German has already secured the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominic Szoboszlai but a swoop for Caicedo would be viewed as the final piece in the jigsaw ahead of the new season.

It comes after Reds midfielders Henderson and Fabinho were offered lucrative deals to join the Saudi Pro League.

Liverpool skipper Henderson, is believed to be mulling over a money-spinning switch to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq.

The move is likely to see the England international earn around £700,000-a-week as the Saudi Pro League continues to attract a host of big-named stars.

Meanwhile, Fabinho could join Henderson in the Middle East with Saudi champions Al Ittihad set to table a £40million offer for the Brazilian.

Fabinho’s potential exit would see Klopp launch an offensive for Caicedo due to the player’s similar profile.

Chelsea had stepped up their interest in Caicedo and expected to find an agreement with Brighton but news of Liverpool’s interest may force them to speed up proceedings.

Brighton initially slapped an £80m price tag on the midfielder but Arsenal’s pursuit of Declan Rice prompted the Seagulls to increase their valuation of the player.

With Rice expected to seal a £105m move to the Emirates Stadium in the coming days, Brighton are holding out for a similar figure for a player they view as the same level at the England midfielder.

However, Liverpool will be confident of piping Chelsea to the line for Caicedo, considering their good relationship with Brighton.

The club’s have already traded players this season with Brighton landing James Milner and Liverpool’s acquisition of Mac Allister.
