United have now formally announced the deal, which could reach £60m with potential add-ons.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year deal worth up to £300,000-a-week, dwarfing his previous £80,000-a-week wages at Chelsea.
He becomes the Red Devils’ first signing of the summer.
“It’s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career,” Mount said in United’s official press release.

“I am hugely ambitious; I know how amazing it feels to win major trophies and what it takes to do it. I will be giving everything to experience that again at Manchester United.”
Mount made 129 Premier League appearances for Chelsea and won the Champions League in 2021.
