Arsenal fans will absolutely love Mikel Arteta’s response to being asked about winning the Premier League title.

The Gunners missed out on the title last year after a late-season collapse while Manchester City were simply relentless, registering 10 wins in a row in the latter months.

Ultimately, Arsenal came up short and missed out despite leading at the top of the table for much of the campaign.

Ahead of the new season, men’s fashion magazine British GQ managed to get Arteta to appear on the cover.

And in his interview, the Spaniard was as defiant as ever over winning the title.

Speaking on the pain of last year, Arteta said: “I had to go through that and it took me a few weeks.

“I don’t know if I’ve gotten over it, and probably I don’t want to because I need that to be better.

“There are certain things that you must have to win the title. We had a lot, but it wasn’t enough.”

Arteta was then asked if he still thinks Arsenal can win the Premier League, to which he replied: “If not, I wouldn’t be sitting here.”

Arsenal fans have loved his response, with one saying: “My manager.”

Another replied: “Keep going stronger coachie and this season is ours.”

While a third said: “Yeah we are winning the league this season I am 100% convinced.”

He has certainly put his money where his mouth is this summer and has splashed the cash.

Declan Rice has led the way in terms of signings, joining from West Ham for £105million.

Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber have also joined for close to £100m while further transfers are plotted with David Raya and Romeo Lavia linked.

But while they have strengthened, their rivals have also spent in the summer.

City are on the brink of signing Josko Gvardiol and have already brought in Mateo Kovacic.

Manchester United have splashed out on Mason Mount, Andre Onana and are closing in on Rasmus Hojlund.

While Liverpool have bought Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, though have lost plenty of experience in midfield.
