Chelsea seem to have doubts about one of their players despite him being a recent signing.

It is quite an inconsistent squad the Blues have, which is something everyone saw this season.

In the end, it was a real up and down campaign. While Chelsea were able to finish in the top six, they spent practically the whole season out of it.

Following Manchester United’s win in the FA Cup final on Saturday, it was also not enough to secure the club Europa League football.

Their aim heading into the campaign was Champions League qualification, so Mauricio Pochettino and this young Chelsea side failed this term.

Chelsea have doubts about one signing

One young player in this current Chelsea squad is Noni Madueke.

The Blues signed Madueke from PSV Eindhoven for £30m last year and he made quite a bit of an impact in the second half of the season.

For example, the 22-year-old scored an excellent goal in his side’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United last month.

However, it looks like Madueke has some doubters at Chelsea.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that “not everyone” at the club is “convinced” that the winger can make it at Stamford Bridge.

Can Noni Madueke make it at Chelsea?

Understandably, Madueke is not the finished article yet at 22 years of age. There is obviously room for improvement.

However, the England U21 international has shown enough this season to suggest that he can be a success at Chelsea.

Again, Madueke came up with some big moments in the second half of the campaign, while he has the kind of skill set you want a wide man to possess.

Over the last year, the former PSV man has ranked in the 93rd percentile for successful take-ons (FBref), showing that he can dribble.

Ultimately, then, while some at Chelsea may have their doubts about Madueke, the club should not give up on him.
