Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino would have been happy with his side’s performance against Manchester City yesterday.
Chelsea drew 1-1 to earn a point at the Etihad and actually took the lead thanks to Raheem Sterling.
However, one thing that Mauricio Pochettino did not seem too pleased about was Moises Caicedo‘s yellow card.
Caicedo was booked in the first half after a series of fouls, and journalist Nizaar Kinsella claimed on X that the Argentine was quite upset about the decision.
Fortunately, it did not prove costly, with Caicedo managing to avoid a second yellow and Chelsea able to escape with a point.
Chelsea and Moises Caicedo need to improve their discipline
Pochettino can be frustrated with Caicedo’s latest yellow card, but the reality is that the 22-year-old and Chelsea as a whole have lacked discipline this season.

They have racked up 78 yellow cards in the Premier League (WhoScored), with Caicedo receiving seven of those.
Seven cautions at this stage of the campaign for a battling midfielder like the Ecuadorian is not unheard of. But the one he picked up yesterday, for example, was avoidable. He just needed to calm down a bit after his first couple of fouls.
But again, Caicedo managed to stay on the pitch and no harm was done in the end.
Pochettino will need a disciplined performance in every aspect from his Chelsea side next Sunday. The Blues take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
It has not been a great season for Chelsea, who currently sit 10th in the Premier League table. However, they can give supporters something to smile about if they are able to come out as victors at Wembley.
Liverpool will not be at full strength after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury. Jurgen Klopp will also be concerned about the fitness of Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez after they had to be taken off in his side’s 4-1 win against Brentford yesterday.
