Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has been speaking about one of his teammates after a recent incident.

Chelsea‘s last few games have not gone to plan.

They drew 2-2 with Aston Villa over the weekend, going 2-0 down in that match and having a last-minute goal disallowed by the VAR.

Before their game at Villa Park, Chelsea were hammered 5-0 by Arsenal, which followed a 1-0 loss against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals.

After losing at Wembley, something happened, which left some supporters fuming.

Marc Cucurella defends Chelsea teammate

Following the full-time whistle against City, Noni Madueke was seen having a laugh with Jack Grealish.

Chelsea fans were not happy, especially after Thiago Silva was caught in tears, while his teammate was chuckling away in the background.

Cucurella, though, thinks it was taken out of context and has claimed that Madueke was not happy after his side’s elimination from the FA Cup.

Speaking to The Athletic, the left-back said: “It [the picture] was out of context. A lot of players have different personalities. For sure, Noni was not happy because he always loves to win. He wants to win every game in training. [In] every action he shows it.

“I understand why the fans are not happy because we lost and he maybe showed he was happy. But, for sure, he was not happy. We know him.”

Noni Madueke redeemed himself with Aston Villa performance

Madueke has probably put himself in Chelsea fans’ good books again after his display at Villa Park.

It was the 22-year-old who got his team back into the game after scoring the first of Chelsea’s two goals.

He proved too hot to handle, registering the most amount of dribbles on the night, according to WhoScored.

Madueke is still quite a young player, so supporters should not have been too hard on him in the first place. But given how this season has gone for Mauricio Pochettino‘s side, you cannot blame fans for getting easily frustrated.
