England take on Switzerland this Saturday in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, but will there be any Chelsea players on the pitch?
Chelsea and England attacker Cole Palmer, 22, is still waiting to have a standout moment at this summer’s Euros.
Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate didn’t give him any minutes in the opening two games of the tournament, but he’s been used as a substitute in the following two matches.
Palmer definitely deserves to be in the conversation for a starting XI position, especially as England’s attack has looked far from its best so far at the Euros.
The left-footed playmaker, who can operate as a right winger or as a No 10, is a player full of confidence after last season’s heroics. He scored 25 goals in 45 matches during his debut year at Chelsea.

Chris Sutton is convinced Cole Palmer won’t start against Switzerland
BBC pundit Chris Sutton would like to see Chelsea’s Palmer promoted into England’s starting line-up against the Swiss in this weekend’s quarter final.
He claims it’s very unlikely that will actually happen, though.
“I still want to see Cole Palmer start on the right because he offers something different creatively and looks so at ease with himself, but it is pretty obvious that won’t happen,” Sutton told BBC Sport.
Chelsea star can ignite England attack
FBREF data highlights that Palmer has played just 75 minutes so far at Euro 2024.
Their statistics show that the Chelsea man is averaging 7.50 crosses per 90 minutes, which is the joint-most in the England squad along with Jarrod Bowen.
Bukayo Saka, who’s Palmer’s main rival for England’s right wing position, is only averaging 2.70 crosses per 90 minutes.
It would be great for Southgate to put some extra trust in Palmer.
